Scientists test 'Universal' cell therapy to tame rogue immune system in devastating diseases
NCT ID NCT06939166
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new type of cell therapy for people with severe neurological autoimmune diseases that have not responded to other treatments. The therapy, called universal CAR T-cells, is designed to be given 'off-the-shelf' to target and reduce specific immune cells (B cells) thought to drive these diseases. The main goals are to first check if the treatment is safe and to see if it can help control the disease in up to 12 participants.
