Water vs. air: new technique may reduce bleeding risks in throat surgery

Summary

This study tests a new method to prevent bleeding during a procedure called POEM, which helps people with swallowing disorders. The new method uses water to seal blood vessels, while the standard method uses air. The goal is to see if the water method reduces the need for extra tools to stop bleeding. About 120 adults will take part.
