First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at a phenomenon called 'avalanche' in the lungs of people with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Researchers want to see how small airways open unevenly during mechanical breathing support. By understanding this, they hope to find ways to reduce lung damage from ventilators. The study involves 50 adults with moderate-to-severe ARDS.
