Talking through tests: can a chat change your mind about X-Rays?

NCT ID NCT07158892

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looks at how people make decisions about imaging tests (like X-rays or MRIs) for common muscle and joint conditions. About 220 adults will either have a short conversation about the test's pros and cons or read brief information, then answer a survey. The goal is to see if talking helps people feel more confident and less conflicted about their choice. No actual tests are done—it's all hypothetical.
