First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at how people with and without non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) process food after eating. Researchers compared metabolism in 53 adults, including those with NAFLD, those with related metabolic conditions, and healthy volunteers. Participants stayed in a research center for two nights, had blood and urine tests, and ate controlled meals to track how their bodies handled nutrients. The goal was to better understand what causes fat buildup in the liver.
