Smart combo attack: new trial matches lung cancer drugs to tumor fingerprints
NCT ID NCT07172412
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 25, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing several drug combinations as a first treatment for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Researchers will assign 165 participants to different treatment arms based on specific biomarkers in their tumors. The goal is to see if matching therapy to these markers improves outcomes like tumor shrinkage and survival.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Selinexor, Anlotinib, DLL3 CAR-NK cells, Etoposide + Cisplatin/Carboplatin, and immunotherapies (Tislelizumab, Atezolizumab, Durvalumab, Benmelstobart, Toripalimab, Serplulimab)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward more personalized, effective first-line treatments for extensive-stage small cell lung cancer, potentially improving survival and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is an early-phase (2) trial with a small sample size (165), so results may not apply broadly. Combination therapies also carry higher risks of side effects, and the experimental arms may not outperform standard care.
