Cord blood infusion may help cancer patients with dangerous low platelet counts

NCT ID NCT07441720

First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single infusion of umbilical cord blood can safely raise platelet levels in cancer patients whose platelet counts have dropped due to chemotherapy or other cancer treatments. Researchers will enroll 25 people aged 12 to 65 and monitor their blood counts for 28 days after the infusion. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce the need for platelet transfusions and lower the risk of bleeding.
