Ultrasound aims to make critical blood draws easier for ER patients in shock

NCT ID NCT07362628

Summary

This study tested if using an ultrasound machine to guide a needle makes it easier to draw a specific type of blood sample from patients in shock in the emergency room. Doctors compared the ultrasound method to the standard 'touch and feel' technique in 100 adult patients. They measured which method was more successful on the first try and took less time.
