Sound waves battle back pain: which therapy works best?

NCT ID NCT06959394

Summary

This study tested two common physical therapy methods—therapeutic ultrasound and phonophoresis—to see which is better at reducing pain and improving movement in people with long-term low back pain. Sixty young adults with chronic pain were randomly assigned to receive one of the treatments or a placebo, along with standard exercises and other therapies. Researchers measured changes in pain levels, flexibility, and daily function to determine which approach provided more relief.
