Ultrasound vs. blind shot: which is better at blocking surgery pain?

NCT ID NCT05864872

Summary

This study compared two techniques for numbing specific nerves in the upper arm to reduce pain from the surgical tourniquet. 140 adults having arm surgery received either a traditional 'blind' injection or a newer ultrasound-guided injection to target these nerves. Researchers measured which method was better at preventing tourniquet pain and providing complete numbness.
