First seen Jun 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether ultrasound can measure breathing muscle strength in critically ill patients on ventilators. The goal is to find a better way to predict who is ready to breathe without the machine. Researchers will scan the diaphragm and chest muscles of 77 adults in the ICU to see if muscle function predicts successful weaning.
