Doctors use ultrasound to predict recovery in critically ill mothers

NCT ID NCT06728722

Summary

This study aims to see if ultrasound scans can help doctors better understand how the bodies of critically ill pregnant women change during their illness. Researchers will use portable ultrasound machines to measure muscle loss, fat changes, and fluid buildup in 121 patients. The goal is to find out if these body changes can predict who might have a harder recovery, need more support, or stay in the hospital longer.
