Sedation before spinal block may stop chronic back pain after surgery

Summary

This study aims to see if giving a calming sedative before a spinal anesthetic, and using an ultrasound machine to guide the needle, can reduce back pain after surgery. It will involve 180 adults having planned lower body surgery. Researchers will compare three different approaches to find the safest and most comfortable method.
