Ultrasound tech aims to give amputees more natural arm control

NCT ID NCT05376332

Summary

This study is testing a new way to control prosthetic arms using ultrasound imaging instead of traditional electrical sensors. It aims to see if this method provides more intuitive and precise control for people with below-elbow amputations. Researchers will compare the new ultrasound system against current standard control methods in 16 participants. The goal is to improve daily functionality and reduce the high rate of people abandoning their prosthetic devices.
