First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study tests a new ultrasound otoscope to better diagnose middle ear infections in children. About 300 kids scheduled for ear tube surgery will have their ears scanned with the device. The goal is to see if the ultrasound can tell the difference between infected and non-infected fluid, which could lead to more accurate diagnoses and fewer unnecessary treatments.
