Nerve block shot tested for stubborn fibromyalgia pain

NCT ID NCT07343128

Summary

This study tested whether a targeted injection near neck nerves, called a stellate ganglion block, could help people with fibromyalgia who still had significant pain despite taking a standard medication. 68 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the real nerve block or a placebo injection, with neither knowing which they got. The goal was to see if the nerve block could meaningfully reduce pain and improve how fibromyalgia affects daily life compared to the sham procedure.
