New scan aims to spot fatty liver in kids without MRI

NCT ID NCT06095479

Summary

This study tested if a new type of ultrasound scan could accurately measure how much fat is in a child's liver. Researchers compared the ultrasound results to standard MRI scans in about 90 children with or suspected of having fatty liver disease. The goal was to see if this simpler, more accessible test could be a good alternative for monitoring the condition.
