Ultrasound vs. touch: new hope for kids who fear needles

NCT ID NCT06465121

Summary

This study is testing if nurses trained to use ultrasound machines can insert IV lines more successfully in children with difficult veins, compared to the standard method of feeling for the vein. It aims to reduce the pain, stress, and number of needle sticks children experience during hospital stays. The trial will involve 120 children and compare success rates and complications between the two methods.
