Doctors use ultrasound to make breathing tube care safer
NCT ID NCT07496385
Summary
This study is testing whether using a bedside ultrasound machine to guide suctioning of breathing tubes can make the procedure safer and more effective for ICU patients on ventilators. Researchers will compare the standard method to the ultrasound-guided method in over 300 patients to see if it reduces pneumonia, airway injuries, and other complications. The goal is to improve care and outcomes for critically ill patients who need help breathing.
