Ultrasound may make breast cancer surgery quicker and less invasive
NCT ID NCT07338721
First seen Jan 15, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to find the first lymph node under the arm during breast cancer surgery. Doctors use ultrasound to mark the exact spot, then make a small cut there instead of the usual method. The goal is to see if this leads to a smaller incision, less tissue damage, and shorter surgery time. About 40 women with early-stage breast cancer will take part.
