Ultrasound may make scalp blocks safer for kids after brain surgery
NCT ID NCT07411274
First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study compares two ways of numbing the scalp to control pain after brain tumor surgery in children. The new method uses ultrasound to guide the numbing medicine, which may be safer and more accurate than the traditional approach of feeling for landmarks. The trial will include 74 children and measure pain levels and how long pain relief lasts.
