Simple neck scan could keep heart failure patients out of the hospital

NCT ID NCT06921603

Summary

This study is testing if a simple bedside ultrasound scan of a neck vein can help doctors better manage fluid levels in people hospitalized for worsening heart failure. The goal is to see if this more precise approach helps patients leave the hospital with the right amount of fluid removed, which could prevent them from being readmitted within 30 days and protect their kidneys from injury. Researchers will compare outcomes between patients whose fluid removal is guided by the ultrasound and those who receive standard care.
