NCT ID NCT07334288
First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding an ultrasound-guided nerve block to standard pain medicine can reduce the need for strong painkillers after lower back surgery. About 50 adults having elective lumbar spine surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block plus usual care or usual care alone. The main goal is to see if the block lowers opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery, while also tracking pain levels, side effects, and recovery.
