Doctors test simple scan to track tiny Babies' growth

NCT ID NCT03241082

Summary

This study is testing if a simple bedside ultrasound machine can be used to safely and accurately track the growth of fat and muscle in premature babies. Researchers want to see if weekly scans can show how a baby's body is responding to the nutrition they receive in the NICU. The goal is to gather information that could one day help doctors provide better nutritional care for these vulnerable infants.
