Summary
This study tests whether gentle ultrasound waves aimed at a small brain region called the pedunculopontine nucleus can reduce freezing of gait — a common and disabling symptom in Parkinson's disease where people suddenly feel stuck in place. Researchers will compare real stimulation to a sham (fake) procedure in 50 adults with Parkinson's who experience freezing. The study uses walking tests and questionnaires to measure changes, and MRI scans to see how the brain responds.
