Ultrasound may prevent fluid overload in kidney injury patients
NCT ID NCT06411080
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a bedside ultrasound to check how well patients with acute kidney injury can handle extra fluids is practical. 80 hospitalized adults (not in the ICU) were randomly assigned to either usual care or care guided by ultrasound results. The main goal was to see if doctors would follow the ultrasound advice and if it could lead to better fluid management and kidney outcomes.
