First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested whether a focused ultrasound device could safely reduce seizures in people with drug-resistant epilepsy. Twelve participants received one real ultrasound treatment and one fake (sham) treatment in a random order. Researchers monitored them for two months to see if the treatment affected their seizure frequency, quality of life, and mood.
