Sound waves may replace X-Rays for bone healing checks
NCT ID NCT07505433
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether ultrasound can accurately detect when bone has healed enough during Ilizarov frame treatment. Researchers will compare ultrasound images with standard X-rays and physical exams in 56 patients. If successful, ultrasound could provide a safer, radiation-free way to decide when to remove the frame.
