Could a simple neck scan make surgery safer for overweight patients?
NCT ID NCT07346768
Summary
This study aims to see if using an ultrasound to measure neck tissue thickness can help doctors better predict which overweight or obese patients will have a difficult time having a breathing tube placed during surgery. Researchers will compare the ultrasound measurements to standard physical exams in 52 patients to see which method is more accurate. The goal is to improve safety by giving anesthesiologists a clearer picture of airway risk before surgery begins.
