Brain ultrasound zaps addiction cravings in early trial

NCT ID NCT07010016

Summary

This early study is testing whether a non-invasive, focused ultrasound treatment aimed at a specific brain area can safely help reduce cravings in people with opioid or other substance use disorders. It involves 20 participants who are already in treatment programs. Researchers will monitor safety and whether the approach is practical while tracking changes in behavior and cravings before, during, and for 12 weeks after the ultrasound sessions.
