Scientists test implant to unlock brain for cancer drugs in kids

NCT ID NCT05293197

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety of a small, implanted ultrasound device in children with hard-to-treat brain tumors that have come back. The device is designed to temporarily open a natural protective barrier in the brain, which may allow more chemotherapy to reach the tumor. The main goal is to see if this procedure is safe and to find the right ultrasound settings before checking if it helps patients live longer.
