First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a specific ultrasound-guided nerve block can lower the body's stress response and improve pain control in adults having umbilical hernia repair. About 100 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block or standard care. The main goal is to measure blood sugar and cortisol levels as signs of stress, along with pain levels and need for extra pain medicine.
