Ultrasound may predict airway trouble in obese surgery patients

NCT ID NCT07346768

First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether an ultrasound of the neck can help doctors predict if an obese patient will have a difficult time with a breathing tube during surgery. About 52 overweight or obese adults having planned surgery will get an ultrasound before anesthesia. The goal is to see if this simple test can spot risks better than current methods, which could make surgery safer.
