Scientists test if junk food spikes your stress hormones

NCT ID NCT06724692

Summary

This study aimed to understand if eating ultra-processed foods causes a different stress hormone (cortisol) response compared to eating unprocessed foods. Twenty healthy men ate two different meals—one ultra-processed and one unprocessed—on separate days while researchers measured their blood cortisol levels and other metabolic markers. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about how food processing might influence our body's hormonal reactions.
