Could your favorite snacks be messing with your blood sugar?
NCT ID NCT05358171
Summary
This study aimed to understand if eating a lot of ultra-processed foods (like packaged snacks and ready meals) worsens blood sugar control in middle-aged adults. Twenty participants aged 45-65 followed either a high or no ultra-processed food diet for 6 weeks. Researchers measured changes in insulin sensitivity, 24-hour blood sugar levels, and gut bacteria to see if these foods cause harm.
