One-and-Done radiation boost may spare breast cancer patients extra hospital trips
NCT ID NCT07590505
First seen May 23, 2026 ยท Last updated May 23, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a single, high-dose radiation boost (ultrahypofractionated) is as good as the usual five-dose boost after whole-breast radiation for women who had breast-conserving surgery. 132 women with early breast cancer took part. The main goal was to see if the shorter approach keeps the breast looking and feeling similar, without increasing side effects like pain or scarring.
