New infusion therapy aims to tame debilitating bowel disease

Summary
This study is testing whether a drug called vedolizumab, given as an IV infusion, can help control moderate to severe ulcerative colitis over the long term. It will involve about 402 Chinese adults whose symptoms haven't improved enough with standard treatments. Participants will receive either the active drug or a placebo infusion to see if vedolizumab is better at reducing symptoms and keeping the disease in check for up to 60 weeks.
