New drug targets heart artery plaque in early human trial
NCT ID NCT06813339
Summary
This early-stage study aims to test the safety of an experimental drug called UDP-003 in healthy volunteers and people with a history of heart attacks or chest pain. Researchers want to see how the body processes the drug and get a first look at whether it might reduce dangerous plaque buildup in heart arteries. The study will compare the drug to a placebo (inactive substance) in 84 participants, starting with healthy people and then including a small group of heart disease patients.
