Scientists seek clues in blood to unlock better gut infection defenses

NCT ID NCT03971669

Summary

This study aims to learn how the body's immune system responds to a common oral typhoid vaccine. Healthy adult volunteers will receive the approved vaccine and provide blood, saliva, and stool samples over several years. Researchers will analyze these samples to understand the body's protective defenses, which could help fight other similar gut infections in the future.
