Scientists test safer exercise rules for diabetes tech users

NCT ID NCT05821322

Summary

This study aimed to find the safest blood sugar level to aim for before exercise for adults with type 1 diabetes who use do-it-yourself automated insulin systems. Researchers tested three different blood sugar targets with participants performing moderate cycling sessions to see which target best prevented dangerous lows during and after exercise. The trial was terminated early after enrolling only 6 of the planned 32 participants.
