This study investigates whether the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a simple blood-based measure of insulin resistance, can predict early signs of atherosclerosis in people with lupus nephritis. Researchers will measure carotid artery thickness and plaque in 156 adults with lupus, with or without kidney involvement, and compare it to their TyG index. The goal is to see if this inexpensive test could help catch cardiovascular risk early, before heart problems develop.
