Common bleeding drug put to test in High-Stakes brain surgeries

NCT ID NCT06229483

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called tranexamic acid (TXA) can safely reduce dangerous bleeding during surgery to remove brain tumors. Researchers will compare TXA against a placebo in 102 adults undergoing this operation to see if it lowers blood loss and prevents serious complications like re-operation or death. The goal is to provide clear evidence on whether this widely used medication should become a standard part of brain surgery care.
