Drug trial aims to stop bleeding, speed recovery from common prostate surgery

NCT ID NCT07460518

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called tranexamic acid (TXA) can reduce bleeding during a common prostate surgery for enlarged prostate (BPH). It will involve 80 men who are randomly given either the drug or a placebo (inactive solution) before their surgery. The main goal is to see if the drug helps patients lose less blood during the operation and have better blood counts afterward, which could lead to a faster recovery.
