Could some dialysis patients safely cut treatment days?
NCT ID NCT03874117
Summary
This study tested whether stable patients on dialysis who still have some of their own kidney function could safely receive treatment twice a week instead of the standard three times. It involved 58 patients who tried both schedules for four weeks each. Researchers measured treatment effectiveness, symptom burden, and quality of life to see if the reduced schedule was a viable option.
