First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether a noninvasive device that stimulates the vagus nerve through the ear can reduce brain inflammation and damage after a traumatic brain injury or bleeding stroke. Researchers will measure biomarkers in blood and spinal fluid from 60 adults to see if the treatment lowers harmful chemicals and supports recovery. The goal is to gather initial evidence for a new, safe way to improve outcomes after acute brain injury.
