Spice for the mind: turmeric tested to fight memory loss
NCT ID NCT04705220
Summary
This study tested whether taking a special turmeric supplement for six months could help protect brain function in older adults with metabolic syndrome, a condition that increases the risk of memory problems and Alzheimer's disease. Researchers gave 85 participants either the turmeric supplement or a placebo pill and measured changes in memory, thinking skills, and body chemistry. The goal was to see if this natural supplement could be a simple way to help prevent age-related cognitive decline.
