New study aims to better detect breathing trouble in Non-Communicative ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07383389

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study checks if a Turkish version of the Respiratory Distress Observation Scale (RDOS) accurately measures breathing distress in critically ill patients who cannot speak. Researchers will compare RDOS scores with end-tidal carbon dioxide levels, an objective breathing measure, in 64 ICU adults. The goal is to improve symptom monitoring and care for patients unable to report their own discomfort.
