Mushroom medicine: ancient remedy tested against breast cancer
NCT ID NCT06450873
Summary
This study is testing whether taking turkey tail mushroom extract can slow the growth of breast cancer tumors in the weeks between diagnosis and surgery. It involves 40 post-menopausal women with a common hormone-driven type of breast cancer who are not yet on other cancer drugs. Researchers will measure changes in the tumor and track side effects and quality of life to see if this natural supplement could be a helpful addition to treatment.
