Active substance
tucatinib and ado-trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with HER2-positive cancers that have spread to the brain, potentially helping control the disease.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drugs can cause side effects, and it's not yet known if they will work better than existing treatments.
