New feeding method could help sick kids recover faster
NCT ID NCT05286177
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a volume-based feeding approach helps critically ill children in the pediatric ICU get the nutrition they need. Currently, tube feedings are often interrupted, so children may not receive enough calories and protein. The researchers will compare the volume-based method to the standard rate-based method in 20 children to see if a larger trial is feasible.
